Day 8: Fresh Flowers
Today’s tip is short and sweet. Fresh flowers are a easy way to make any space more fabulous!
Sadly, I have a confession to make that is neither classy, nor fabulous: I am the owner of a black thumb. I am quite unlike my grandmother, who was so well-known for her way with plants that friends would bring her their vegetational lost causes that she somehow always nursed back to life. Me? My apartment is like the lair of Medusa for plants — I cast my gaze, and sprouts wither. However, I get around this dismal situation by having fresh flowers at home as often as possible.
You don’t live near a helpful bodega to pick up your weekly peonies? Prefer a more permanent solution? Calm yourself, I am not about to recommend silk plants! This darling Verdant Acres Dinnerware might do the trick.

I used to kill all my plants, until I found some serious survivors
There are some species of plants that will survive a lot of neglect, they need little water and no special care (look for “spider plant” and succulents). I love the way the plants complement a room.
I am sad to say that I even have killed off a spider plant or two…I’m not sure if there is any hope for me Chrys!
