Fashion’s Night Out is practically upon us. This Friday, a night of entertainment, music, freebies and – most importantly – fashion!, kicks off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. Tackling FNO can be a bit intimidating, which is probably appropriate, considering it’s the brainchild of Anna Wintour.
A few highlights that struck Quite Continental’s fancy:
- Ralph Lauren (379 West Broadway New York NY 10012)
Andre Leon Tally and Jessica Alba host, and Janelle Monae performs.
- Ace Hotel + Opening Ceremony (at Ace Hotel, 20 West 29th Street, New York NY 10001)
French flea market with exclusive Parisian wares, featuring agnès b., Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Ladurée, Patrik Ervell, Colette, Proenza Schouler
- Club Monaco (121 Prince Street New York NY 10012)
Get your portrait taken by Victor (son of Patrick) Demarchelier with his vintage Polaroid Camera (signing included)
- Barneys New York (Madison and 61st, Upper East Side)
Bonanza! Meet Tavi or participate in a karaoke battle hosted by Simon Doonan and judged by the Olsen twins.
- Piperlime Pop Up (93 Mercer St., New York NY 10012)
Rachel Zoe + cast of Project Runway will be on hand. Bananas!
A great starting point to drawing up your own plan of attack is the Fashion’s Night Out website. You can browse all of offerings and add them to “your tour” – which you can then email or share or print. Refinery also has some great resources here, and here. Get Styleite’s scoop here. And for my Brooklyn revelers – check this out.
Speaking from experience, be prepared for long lines and depleted freebies. Get there early and don’t be afraid to be a bit sharp-elbowed!
