Day 17: Thank You Notes

It is a wonderful thing to express your gratitude to those who deserve it, but your merci beaucoups will be made classy and fabulous when sent in the form of a hand-written thank you note.  If you already have your own social stationery, this is a perfect opportunity to put it to use!  Your recipient will be touched that you took the time to acknowledge the solid they did for you, while you will be benefited by reflecting upon how much you have to be thankful for.  I don’t believe in any hard and fast rules on what kind of act or gift requires a written response, or how long is too long to wait – let your instinct be your guide on this.  If you just now remembered how wonderful your friend was to listen to your relationship troubles three months ago, send that note.  She won’t care that it’s a bit tardy, I guarantee it.

Alas, we have happened upon another classy and fabulous tip that yours truly has to brush up on herself!  I have recommitted lately to expressing my attitude of gratitude in written form.  It’s been lifelong battle — feel free to check with my mother on how tragically and chronically late my childhood thank you notes were!  The classier and more fabulous me is sending out those thank you notes, even if they are very slightly late.  Don’t be surprised if you get one!
