**QC’s 28 Days**
In February I will be bringing you daily tips
to cultivate more classiness and fabulousness in daily life!
Day 26: Smell Pretty
My grandmother had two constants — red lipstick and Chanel No.5. A faint whiff of No.5 will bring her immediately to mind, even though as she got on in her years, the amount of perfume she wore increased gradually to the point where it was strong enough to knock out a smallish horse. As a child, I recall picking her — and her cloud of No.5 — up one afternoon for dinner. Once she was in the car and the door was closed, it was as if the No.5 had obliterated all of the breathable oxygen. Her first words to greet us: “Don’t I smell pretty?”
Taking the time to make sure that you smell good is a classy move. No one enjoys the close quarters on the subway with people who can’t be bothered to take pride in the way they smell. Quelle horreur! Whether you have a signature scent, a constantly rotating roster, or simply prefer the clean smell of soap, take care to make sure you aren’t offending the olfactory senses of the general public. And don’t knock out any horses, either.
What do I prefer, you ask? Well, cherie, are you surprised to learn that I prefer to wear men’s cologne? I love the way a man can smell so much, I’ve stolen it for myself — it’s especially amusing when boys tell me I smell good. My current loves are Yves Saint Laurent L’Homme and Bleu de Chanel. Yummy.
