Afield: Portsmouth, New Hampshire

05/08/2011 § 2 Comments

As I mentioned earlier, I’m taking off this morning for Portsmouth, New Hampshire for a wedding and a bit of exploration.  It will the be farthest north I will have ventured into New England thus far and I am so excited to go.  I’ll be back in a few days with plenty to show and tell, I’m sure.  As always, you can keep up with me in real time via Twitter.

Have you been?  Is there anything I should see?

Have a wonderful weekend.

My dear girl of course I have suggestions!! The Dunaway is fabulous fine dining at Strawberry Banke. Tour the historic houses while there, worth it for any history buff. Explore Prescott Park, have a picnic and see if they have any outdoor concerts or plays. PS, my mother dated one of the owners of the Dolphin Striker (you’ll pass it at some point while downtown), I always think of it when I walk by. Oh and there is a fabulous estate jewelry shop up the street from the Gaslight Brewery on the main drag, haven’t been there for years but always get fab pieces. Enjoy! And sorry to miss you in NYC.

PS, if you have a car, go up to Kittery for some outlet shopping (literally 5 minutes over the bridge into Maine). Make sure to go to the Trading post for New England outfitting at its finest. XOXOX
