Natasha is making me want leather jackets and paper thin tshirts…

And a lot of eyeliner.

And maybe a motorcycle.

Absolutely adore this editorial, down to the very last detail.

That tasseled Burberry Prorsum bag needs to be mine.

Suited for Fall {Wonderland Issue No. 23}

Bit of the gamine in the latest issue of Wonderland that drew my attention.
How could I resist?  You know I always love a lady in a tie.

I adore her eyebrows.  Very 1980s Brooke Shields.

Definitely adding braces this fall.  Preferably not clip on, though...

We the Brave, the Mighty and the Wise {Love Magazine #6}

Cannot get enough of these images…

Kate King = blowing. my. mind.

While it’s never very hard to get me to purchase a glossy foreign fashion magazine, even if it is $20, this editorial alone from UK import Love Magazine’s 6th edition (F/W 2011) was enough to sell me on the 400+ page tome.  Featuring Alessandra Ambrosio, Hannah Noble and Kate King in pieces by Polo, DKNY, Sandro, Paul Smith and the European Army Surplus, Love forecasts precise tailoring and militaristic androgyny for the colder months.  You have already guessed they have my full attention, yes?

The editorial, shot by Boo George and styled by Anders Sølvsten Thomsen, has quite a bit more photos than the ones I was able to source on the interwebs.  It’s definitely worth picking up the issue, if you are as truly entranced as I am.  (Sidenote: my source for my ridiculous and out of control foreign fashion magazine habit is Around the World.)

Man Up: Marina Muñoz for

08/08/2011 § Leave a comment

Familiar with Marina Muñoz?  She is an amazing Brooklyn-based, half Argentine stylist I first learned about from Lizzie at Tomboy Style as I went through the Q&As to get a sense of the other ladies who had previously answered, in preparation for my own.  When Marina referenced the young girl (Marguerite Duras, writing from her own life) in The Lover, one of my favorite books (and a gift from a very special Mister in my life), I knew this was a woman after my own heart.  She’s been featured all over the interwebs, most beautifully by Tommy Ton on Jak & Jil.

In this recent shoot for, Marina styles herself in a combination of recent pieces from both menswear and womenswear collections.  Beautiful girl in beautiful clothes, exhibiting an aesthetic that I completely embrace.  In fact, today I’m wearing a shirt I may or may not have stolen from a completely different Mister.  Our secret…

Can we talk about this jacket.  Can. We. Talk…?

Neckerchief.  J’adore.

{Boy Meets Girl} Wang Xiao for Vogue China August 2011

Pitch-prefect Tomboy Style.  Photographer Lincoln Pilcher captures model Wang Xiao for Vogue China in clothes I supremely hope I will be wearing this fall.  I love the hats, but I am not sure I could pull them off.  I always feel like I’m wearing a costume when I have a hat on…

Must have the Dieppa Restrepos.
These are close, but I really adore the sole/heel above.

Dree Hemingway for Vogue Turkey July 2011

15/07/2011 § Leave a comment

In love with this editorial for Vogue Turkey lensed by Sebastian Faena and styled by Mary Fellowes.  It is almost as if Dree Hemingway and Jon Kortajarena are showing us the scrapbook of their dreamy summer romance.

There is something about these pictures that resonates with me this evening.  Is it the brooding romance?  The fact that I am currently reading a novel by Dree’s great-grandfather?  The topless sunbathing?  The bleached out look of the photos?  Whatever it is, I’m hoping to capture of bit of it this weekend, and I hope you do as well.

Sidenote:  I’ve just joined Svpply and am loving it.  Are you a member?  Would love to see what you’ve found.  You can find me here.

Le Smoking: Jessica Miller for Elle US July 2011 {Homage: YSL, Bianca Jagger, Balenciaga}

I am definitely in need of a new tuxedo jacket…

Don’t like sequins — or Dolce & Gabbana, for that matter — but this is amazing.

Editorial via FGR.

This editorial immediately had me thinking of the progenitor and my favorite champion of “Le Smoking.”  I would be remiss if I didn’t include a few iconic images of Bianca Jagger and the most famous one by Helmut Newton of YSL’s design.

For her wedding, Bianca wore a white suit, custom made by Nutters of Savile Row.

Iconic image by Helmut Newton of YSL’s Le Smoking.

Looking for a tuxedo jacket just like me?  Asos has some a few options here, here and here.  Shopbop has a few here, here, here and here.  Now, those are all great, but can we pause momentarily and meditate on the greatness of this Balenciaga amazingness?

Bianca would want me to have this.  I can feel it.

The Shirt Off His Back {May 2011 How To Spend It, Financial Times}

I feel this editorial has been extracted from the depths of my brain somehow.  I mean, we’ve got a sultry brunette, in gorgeous shirting, sporting exquisite accessories.  It looks as if she’s just rolled from bed and pieced together something almost suitable from the items her gentleman has left strewn about.  The insouciance of it all has me thinking of Sabina from The Unbearable Lightness of Being, not least of all because of the bowler hat.

Sidenote: I’ll be needing each and every pair of these shoes to get in my closet. Right. Now.  J’adore.
