MFW FW2011 Pick: Salvatore Ferragamo

After a close survey of all that Milan had to offer, I’m ready to award my best in show to the Italian house that offered a symphony of business-like prints in shapes that were strong, yet feminine: Salvatore Ferragamo.
I’m not sure if someone clued-in Ferragamo on my love for all things houndstooth and professional, lest we unnecessarily accuse the house of stacking the deck in their favor — but in any event, the entire collection was permeated with the playful use of menswear-inspired prints in a limited palette (white, black, grey) paired with attention-grabbing bright red nails. Plenty of suiting, blouses and pencil skirts: Ferragamo was all business! Work wear can get staid — when next you wear a suit, think statement nails, glittering sky-high heels and a structured clutch.
More Ferragamo after the jump…
