Day 3: Social Stationery
The only thing more fabulous than receiving a hand-written letter, is receiving a hand-written letter on personalized social stationery. A wonderful store that will assist you in classing up your correspondence is Sugar Paper, a custom-design letterpress shop in Los Angeles, founded and run by friends and graphic designers Chelsea Shukov and Jamie Grobecker.  I came across Sugar Paper quite by accident, as they occupy a sweet sliver of a storefront located next to one of my favorite cafes in the Westwood/Century City area, Clementine.  Sugar Paper specializes in custom orders of the sort pictured above, and has a wonderful online portfolio for you to peruse for inspiration before placing an order.  Their website is darling – it even offers etiquette tips!

If the custom order is a bit out of your price range, Sugar Paper also has lovely monogram stationery.  As I have quite a thing for my first initial — you’ll notice I tend to use it more than my own name — I would love to have the below examples with an “M.”  I also have a budding obsession with crowns — bit of a princess at heart — so the last one really seals the deal for me.  J’adore!

“It does me good to write a letter which is not
a response to a demand, a gratuitous letter, so to speak, which has
accumulated in me like the waters of a reservoir.”
-Henry Miller
