My obsession with Salvatore Ferragamo is pronounced and documented, so it really is no wonder that I adore the images for the Fall 2011 campaign. Daria Werbowy is simply stunning in these shots by Mikael Jansson.

When Massimiliano Giornetti draws from the 1930s for inspiration for the 2012 Salvatore Ferragamo resort collection, and then adds a dash of the nautical, you already know I’m ob.sessed. I’ve been increasingly drawn to Ferragamo over the last few seasons — loving the house’s coherence and understated elegance under Giornetti and every collection leaves me wanting more. The 2012 resort collection immediately transports me to the ultra chic ocean vistas of Positano and Capri and inspires the thirst for a perfect Negroni.
Sidenote: Giornetti clearly favors model Mariacarla Boscono, because he gave her the two most amazing looks in the show.

After a close survey of all that Milan had to offer, I’m ready to award my best in show to the Italian house that offered a symphony of business-like prints in shapes that were strong, yet feminine: Salvatore Ferragamo.
I’m not sure if someone clued-in Ferragamo on my love for all things houndstooth and professional, lest we unnecessarily accuse the house of stacking the deck in their favor — but in any event, the entire collection was permeated with the playful use of menswear-inspired prints in a limited palette (white, black, grey) paired with attention-grabbing bright red nails. Plenty of suiting, blouses and pencil skirts: Ferragamo was all business! Work wear can get staid — when next you wear a suit, think statement nails, glittering sky-high heels and a structured clutch.
More Ferragamo after the jump…
