QC Loves || Bridge & Burn F/W 2012

A gorgeous little love note to New York, Bridge & Burn‘s Fall/Winter 2012 short by Monica Reyes makes me want to bundle up in Erik Prowell’s amazing collection and take an extra long walk around the city.  I’ve long been a fan of this Portland-based brand that effortlessly mixes just the right amounts of ruggedness, prep and menswear detailing, and Fall/Winter 2012 has definitely proven to be no exception to this rule.

Be sure to visit Bridge & Burn.

Desired Destination: Las Calles de Borges

08/08/2012 § 1 Comment

True, I’ve already been to Buenos Aires.  But there is something about the land of polo and Peron that keeps calling my name, not least of which was finding Ian Ruschel‘s gorgeous short film in which he follows a fictitious Jorge Luis Borges through the city.  If you haven’t yet been, you must. go. immediately.

In the meantime: see my trip here,
find a few of my favorite places to antique in BA here,
and see my trip to the Argentine Polo Open here.

Love, Parisian Style

I don’t know this lovely couple personally, but I do know the groom is one half of the duo behind Rogue Territory, an excellent Los Angeles-based handmade denim goods company.  Nor do I personally know the photographer who shot this, but I do know he is the exceptionally talented Duncan Wolfe.  What else do I know?  That this film is perfect and beautiful and that I was left speechless after viewing it…and wanting to hop the next flight to CDG.  And while I don’t generally talk about weddings and such on here, I had to share.  It’s that good.

Congrats K & L.
May your life together be as filled with love and beauty
as these 4 minutes and 29 seconds are.

Many thanks to Ryan for the tip.

Throwback Thursday || Bert Stern’s Jazz on a Summer’s Day

In gorgeous color, photographer Bert Stern captured the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival in his lovely film, “Jazz on a Summer’s Day.”  An amazing cocktail of pop culture, jazz, sailboats and summer in New England, it is definitely worth your time.  I can’t wait for summer, by the by.  Sidenote: I personally feel Anita O’Day’s hat almost steals the show — would be perfect for the Derby this weekend, no?

If you’d like to have it in your own library, head here to purchase.
